I was born in Richmond, Virginia, and lived there before attending Florida State University. After college, I spent a few years in Denver, soaking in the beauty of the Rocky Mountains and diving into a variety of creative projects. But it’s Slidell, Louisiana, where I’ve called home for the past 15 years. Living here, I love being so close to the city. New Orleans offers the perfect balance of creativity, culture, and energy, and it influences my design process. The unique mix of Southern charm and vibrant city life constantly fuels my creativity.
I consider myself a “forever student”—always eager to learn and stay on top of the latest advancements in the industry through coursework and professional development. I believe continuous learning is key to staying sharp and offering fresh, innovative solutions to every project I tackle. This drive for growth is what pushes me to continually evolve as a designer, ensuring that every project I work on reflects the latest creative ideas and technological innovations.
What sets me apart from a typical designer? For one, I’m always open to feedback. A well-respected industry consultant when benchmarking the Netchex company concluded, "I have never met any designer as open to feedback." I don’t just design to look good. I design to work seamlessly and drive results.
A CEO once said to me, "You make payroll sexy," a personal mantra of mine is to use my background and experiences to mix creativity, flair, and results-driven solutions.
I consider “global aesthetic inspiration” a line item in my work product. Among the things contributing to my global flair perspective and flair include my education and trying in China and India. Having been granted a four month work vis in England, my perspective opened up quite a bit as a marketing planner for Archilbald Ingall Stretton Advertising.
I’ve designed websites in pajamas, ballgowns, and once even in a treehouse-because creativity doesn’t have a dress code (or a location, apparently). I also used to be a party planner and still throw themed Tuesday nights, because who says the fun has to stop just because it’s midweek?
I’ve had the privilege of mentoring designers and coders and still cheer when they succeed. Seeing others grow and thrive in the design world brings me as much joy as landing my own creative milestones.
